We travel the world, love street art, and wanted a way to record and share what we've seen.
On this site, you will find a personal journal of street art we have photographed since
starting our journey in November 2016.
We typically use a cell phone when photographing street art. Modern phones take fantastic photos and
the GPS coordinates are automatically included. Carrying a decent digital camera means there is
another expensive item to keep track of while traveling. It's also easier to keep a low profile when
walking around in the more sketchy areas.
Regardless of the equipment, taking a good photo of street art can often be quite challenging.
Since they're located outside, we don't have control over the lighting and there are often cars,
people, or other objects blocking the view. Sometimes there's no good angle because the artwork
is painted in narrow alleyways or are really wide and/or tall.
All photos on this site were taken by us personally and may not be used or reproduced without express
permission. The official copyright may be found in the footer of this site. To reduce bandwidth and
storage requirements, most have been cropped and resized to no more than 1200x900 pixels. The original
photos are much higher resolution.
I don't know if street art ever really works indoors. If you domesticate an animal, it goes from being wild and free to sterile, fat and sleepy. So maybe the art should stay outside.― Bansky
